Casa Comune: work in progress

On March 29th, before the notary, the agreement for the Temporary Association was signed by the legal representatives of the three entities involved, i.e. FONDAZIONE QUARTIERI SPAGNOLI ONLUS; ASSOCIAZIONE QUARTIERI SPAGNOLI ONLUS and CO.RE. (COOPERATION AND RECIPROCITY).
The ATI was an act requested by the Municipality for the management of the Common House. The three realities will be responsible for animating the social activities of the apartment in via del Formale: FOQUS with the weekly activities of co-housing for ARGO Center users; AQS and Consortium CO.RE. for thetemporary hospitality of social tourism on some weekends of the year (during which the Argonauts, i.e. young people with cognitive disabilities who use the Centre, will provide their room cleaning services and prepare breakfasts).

In March, FOQUS commissioned the engineering company Bono srl and Aeffe to produce a survey and a project for the adaptation and renovation of the apartment.
Studio Bono and Aeffe have commissioned Giuseppe Lombardi of the planning. Lombardi met the director of the Center and the operators, collecting their indications and the need for adjustments for the presence and use of the spaces by ARGO users. So he was able to make site inspections and surveys basing on the effective needs.
On April 27th, they submitted three different hypotheses relevant to the different needs of the activities planned in function of the presence of autistic young people and the different possibilities allowed by the spaces, in order to be able then to proceed with a shared planning between the three different entities.

The renovation works can begin when the Municipality formally hands over the house to the ATI: the resolution of some administrative obligations is pending.

Finally, on Tuesday May 9th, during a meeting with a well-known Italian company, the idea of the chocolate production was presented, asking also for support in planning the route and production spaces of the laboratory, as well as in identifying the machinery to purchase.
