
Municipalities play a crucial role in the economic and social development of a country, as they represent the public institutional level closest to citizens, the one with which they interact most even if only due to territorial contiguity.
Rapid and effective responses are what citizens expect, and they often fail to deliver, with the unfortunate consequence of slowly eroding citizens' trust in those who govern them on the territory.
The Relationship illustrates the performance trend of Italian cities, revealing for example that theThe 64% of the Municipalities shows sufficient administrative capacity, but there is a lot of room for improvement because no one achieves excellence. At the same time, analyzing specific areas such as Budget, Governance, Personnel, Services, Procurement and Environment, some positive aspects emerge peaks of excellence even in municipalities whose overall performance is moderate, demonstrating good practices to be replicated.
The Report, edited by Paola Caporossi with the preface of the President of ANAC, Joseph Busia, evaluates Italian cities according to the consolidated methodology REP of ESG evaluation of Public Administrations.
