Public Accounts: Cottarelli, citizens must know the real conditions
Rome, 08 May – “Citizens need to know which ones I am the true conditions of the public finances of a country and from this point of view, in Italy, a very important role could be played by the newly established Parliamentary Budget Office”. This was stated by the Commissioner for Spending Review, Carlo Cottarelli, during a conference in the Chamber organized by the Ethical Foundation. Cottarelli thus underlined the importance of transparency in public accounts which, he underlined, "must be improved".
